Brian Holden, Matt Lang and Eric Kahn Gale review a soap opera scene about two paparazzi from a tabloid-style publication. One photographer gets pictures of a famous young actorknown as the nicest guy in Hollywoodabusing his girlfriend, and the other shooter steals the photos. The LSA undergraduates should hear today (April 16) if they are winners of the SoapU College Soap Opera Competition. Their previous production, "Night Call," was chosen as a top-five entry in the contest sponsored by SOAPnet, a TV network and Internet site that allows people to keep up with their favorite daytime dramas and watch episodes after they have aired. Gale and his team are eligible for a grand prize of $20,000 and a trip to Los Angeles to pitch their soap idea to potential backers. SOAPnet states the competition was created to encourage "new video from students with aspirations to become the next generation of producers, stars and directors."
