Undergraduate students present their findings during the 19th annual Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) symposium at the Michigan League. About 1,000 first- and second-year students participated in the program and were supervised by more than 600 faculty members in all academic fields and disciplines. "The symposium is an amazing peek at the breadth of research taking place at the University and the role research is playing in undergraduate education," UROP Director Sandy Gregerman says of the April 10 event. "It was wonderful to see the overwhelming crowds at the poster and oral sessions, as we clearly are outgrowing our space at the Michigan League." (Photo by Scott Galvin, U-M Photo Services) |
