The award will be presented at the APTR annual meeting in February 2008. Program Director Matthew Boulton attributes much of the rapid growth and national success of the program to the leadership of Residency Advisory Chair Dr. Ronald Davis. Michigan Radio wins PRNDI Award U-M's public radio service Michigan Radio has been honored with an award from Public Radio News Directors Inc. for its Morning Edition newscast on Aug. 11, 2006. Segments anchored by Charity Nebbe and produced by the Michigan Radio news team included a report on Detroit Metro Airport's ban on liquids and gels in carry-on luggage, coverage of Delphi Corp. hearings over the cancellation of blue-collar contracts, and discussion of a decrease in the rate of home foreclosure in Michigan. These national awards recognize outstanding public radio news reporting at local stations. Earlier this year, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters recognized the same Aug. 11 broadcast with a 2006 Broadcast Excellence Award. More Stories
