Ann Arbor campus holiday season closings, special hoursFacilities and Operations will maintain reduced staffing through the holidays to address any emergency situations. During the holidays call: • 911 for emergencies; • 763-1131 to reach the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to report a crime, safety concerns or spill response; or • 647-2059 to reach the Plant Operations Call Center for physical plant maintenance requests. Regular custodial services will conclude Dec. 22. Upon request, limited custodial services dedicated to common area and restroom cleaning will be provided Dec. 26-29. E-mail your custodial service request to the Plant Operations Call Center (pocc@umich.edu) as soon as possible. Waste collections for radioactive waste, chemical waste and medical/pathological waste will be conducted through Dec. 22 and resume Jan. 2. Call 763-4568 before Dec. 15 to request special pickups. Waste collections for trash and recyclables will be monitored during the season days and will occur on an as-needed basis. Call the Plant Operations Call Center at 647-2059 for additional needs. Contact Occupational Safety and Environmental Health at 764-4420 before Dec. 15 for approval of radioactive material deliveries Dec. 26-29. Deliveries may be scheduled if staff is available to receive the packages and properly secure them. The Key Office will not provide walk-in service Dec. 23-Jan. 1. Call the Plant Operations Call Center at 647-2059 for emergencies. Building Automation Services (BAS): Ventilation in most campus buildings will be reduced during the holidays to save energy. People in areas that will be fully staffed Dec. 23-Jan. 2 should contact BAS with work schedules by Dec. 15 so that full ventilation can be maintained. Ventilation for animal research and other critical facilities that normally require 24-hour ventilation will not be reduced. Heat will not be turned off in any buildings; reductions pertain to ventilation only. Remember to close windows to prevent pipe freeze-ups and flooding. ITCS (ITCS): Most ITCS offices will follow the University schedule for the holidays, closing at 5 p.m. Dec. 22 and reopening Dec. 26. The following exceptions to the standard holiday schedule have been reported: • 4-HELP Consulting phone service: Closed 5 p.m. Dec. 22- 8 a.m. Jan. 2, but consulting assistance will be available via e-mail during this period. Messages should be sent to online.consulting@umich.edu. • ITCS Accounts Office: Closed 4:30 p.m. Dec. 22-8 a.m. Jan. 2, but assistance will be available on a limited basis via e-mail during this time. Messages should be sent to itcsao@umich.edu. Responses to messages sent to this address will be given from Dec. 26-29. • Campus Computing Sites: Angell Hall Computing Site will be closed from 7:30 p.m. Dec. 22-7:30 a.m. Jan. 2. The School of Education Building will be closed 6:30 p.m. Dec. 22-7:30 a.m. Jan. 2. Holiday hours for other campus computing sites can be found at www.umich.edu/~sites/hours/. • Computer Showcase (Michigan Union) is closed from 5 p.m. Dec. 22-9 a.m. Jan. 2. • ITCom Repair Services: Will take emergency voice, data or video repair requests at 647-8888. Select emergency option, then select voice, video or data and an operator will answer and take the necessary information. For nonemergency voice, data or video repair requests call 647-8888. Select the nonemergency option, then select voice, video or data and leave a message as instructed. • University Operator Services: An automated system is always available to provide staff, student and faculty telephone numbers. University operators are available at 764-1817 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 22 and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 26-29. Normal hours of Mail Services: University Mail Services will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2. The deadline for units to submit requests to Mail Services for U.S. Postal Service (USPS) mail delivery or metering needs during University seasonal days (Dec. 26-29) is Dec. 15. Requests must be submitted via e-mail or in writing. The USPS will be open Dec. 26-30, but will not provide service to University buildings unless advance written requests are made by Dec. 15. Also, Mail Services must be notified by Dec. 15 if pickup and delivery are not required Michigan Administrative Information Services (MAIS): Most MAIS business offices, including the MAIS Help Desk, will close at 5 p.m. Dec. 22. Regular office hours resume at 8 a.m. Jan. 2. All MAIS systems, including the M-Pathways Financial/Physical Resources, Student Administration and Human Resource Management systems and eResearch, are available during normal hours of operation, which are shown on the Web at www.mais.umich.edu/systeminfo/hours.html. To report a suspected system outage or to request a password reset during this period, call 936-7000. Payroll Office: The monthly payroll for December will be distributed Dec. 22, the same day as the last biweekly payroll for December. The office will be open 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 22. and closed Dec. 25-26. It will reopen8 a.m.-noon Dec. 27 and close Dec. 28 before reopening from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Jan. 2. Parking and Transportation Services Bus and shuttle service will end Dec. 22. Reduced service will be provided Dec. 23-24 and 26-30. There is no bus or shuttle service on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. A Fuller/Mitchell shuttle will provide service 6:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Dec. 26-29 between Lot M75 and the Medical Center, with a stop at Kellogg Eye Center. A stop at the North Ingalls Building is available upon request. Service will return to its regular schedule Jan. 2. Parking enforcement will be suspended for permits and meter fees in all U-M parking areas, except the Simpson Circle Structure (Mott) and North Entrance Structure (Cancer Center), from 5 p.m. Dec. 22-6 a.m. Jan. 2. This policy does not extend to the city of Ann Arbor parking areas. Orange Lots M75 and NC78 will be available for parking, with shuttle service provided at M75 Dec. 26-29. Since there is no evening or weekend shuttle service, Medical Center afternoon and midnight shift staff with yellow or orange permits (hang tags or static cling) who cannot be accommodated by the Fuller/Mitchell shuttle service will be allowed to park at the Taubman Structure (Parking A) Dec. 23-Jan. 1. Enter through Lanes 9 or 10 and exit through Lanes 12 or 13. To minimize the impact on patient parking, staff should park in the south annex. Patient and visitor parking at the Taubman structure (Parking A) will continue normal operations throughout the holiday season, except Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, when parking will be free. The North Entrance Structure (Parking B) will be available for parking Dec. 26-29. It will be closed and unavailable to parkers Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Patient and visitor parking at the Fletcher and Palmer Structures will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 1. U-M fleet fuel stations will be in operation throughout the holidays. The Baxter Road service station is accessible 24 hours a day. The Kipke Drive service station can be accessed by calling DPS at 763-1131. Parking and Transportation Garages will be closed from 12:30 a.m. Dec 23-7 a.m. Jan 2. For emergency repairs or accidents, contact DPS at 763-1131. Parking and Transportation Maintenance will have reduced hours. Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA) The AATA will not operate regular fixed-route bus service, A-Ride, or senior shared-ride services on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Fixed-route bus service will operate on its regular schedule on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. There will be no service on Route 33, the Eastern Michigan University Shuttle, Dec. 21- Jan. 7. From Dec. 25-Jan. 2, there will be no service on Routes 1U, 9U, 12UL, or Route 4 trips leaving the Blake Transit Center at three and 33 minutes past the hour or the Ypsilanti Transit Center at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. Route 4 trips, which operate only between Arborland and U-M Hospital, will not operate. Route 36 service from Wolverine Tower will be reduced to service every 30 minutes at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. Fixed-route bus service will resume Jan. 3, with the exception of Route 33, where service will resume Jan. 8. The Blake and Ypsilanti Transit Centers and the AATA main office, 2700 S. Industrial, will be closed on Christmas and New Year's Day. Bus route and schedule information is available at (734) 996-0400 and on AATA's Web site at www.TheRide.org. Night Ride shared-ride service begins at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Throughout the holidays, Night Ride service will continue on its regular schedule, from 11 p.m.-6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 p.m.-7:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Holiday Ride service on both holidays, only within the city limits of Ann Arbor, is $5 per person. Seniors and persons with disabilities with an AATA identification card may ride for $2.50.
