A construction worker uses a cutting torch to remove a window from the Frieze Building. Contractors have been removing hazardous materials in preparation for demolition of the building to make way for the North Quad Residential and Academic Complex. Excavating equipment will "chew" at the building over the next two months, segregating an estimated 30 percent of materials for recycling. When North Quad is complete in summer of 2010, the 360,000 square-foot complex will house 460 students in a facility that includes classrooms, studios and offices for five information and communications-related programs.
