Sekou Sundiata's "the 51st (dream) state" is a multimedia music theater performance directed by poet and musician Sundiata, who with his musical ensemble takes the audience on a journey through his State of the American Soul address. The journey reconciles humor, hatred, poignancy and joy, and explores the prospects for love, compassion and human solidarity.
