Josuha Bell performs on violin and Jeremy Denk on piano at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 at Hill Auditorium. Bell's parents gave him his first violin at four when they discovered him strumming rubber bands stretched across dresser drawers and moving the drawers in and out to change pitch. Bell's music career was launched at 14 when he won Seventeen magazine's annual music competition and subsequently made his professional debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Now in his late 30s, he performs 120 concerts annually. Sponsored by the University Musical Society, 764-2538. |
