New plates required for all vehicles, equipment

License plates on all University vehicles and equipment such as trailers must be replaced by June 30, as all blue or red and blue plates currently on U-M vehicles and equipment will be canceled by the Michigan Department of State and cannot be used after June 30, per Public Act 177 of 2006. After June 30, tickets, towing or impound fees for improper plates are the responsibility of the department using the vehicle, not Parking and Transportation Services. Personnel will be available at the fleet services garage at 1213 Kipke Drive near Crisler Arena from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday to change plates and provide new vehicle registration cards. No appointment is needed. For more information or to make arrangements for plate replacement after hours or off-campus, call 764-3427.

National clearinghouse on academic worklife available online

College and university administrators, researchers and faculty can access articles, policies and discussions regarding academic work life through a new online resource, www.academicworklife.org. The National Clearinghouse on Academic Worklife (NCAW) combines resources and community discussions to support those who study or participate in academic work. The U-M produced site provides information about peer institutions and policies. Web site users can search for resources in the online database that uses sources from various disciplines and find links to associations, online publications and government information sources. NCAW also serves as an online community with discussions on flexible work policies, tenure track and non-tenure track faculty work, climate and satisfaction, and policy development. The Center for the Education of Women developed the site with funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
