University and LEO have tentative agreement
The Lecturers Employee Organization (LEO) and the University reached a tentative agreement June 27 on their second collective bargaining agreement. The terms will not be disclosed until the union conducts its membership ratification vote, which is expected to occur in early September. Once ratified, the new contract will be effective from that date through May 15, 2010. More>

U-M working to expand
industry partnerships
When Ford formed a partnership with the University last year to develop innovative automotive technologies, the company agreed to provide $2 million by February 2008. But the Dearborn-based automaker already has delivered more than $3 million to the fledgling Ford-U-M Innovation Alliance, largely because the arrangement is working even better than expected, says Edward Krause, external alliances manager at Ford Motor Co. Regents green-light stadium project
The Board of Regents June 21 gave final approval to issue the Michigan Stadium renovation and expansion project for bids and award construction contracts, providing bids are within the approved budget. The vote was 6-2, with regents Laurence Deitch and Katherine White voting against the motion. More> |
