Assistant Professor of Mathematics Selim Esedoglu has been chosen to receive a 2007 Sloan Fellowship. These competitive fellowships are awarded annually in seven fields: chemistry, computational and evolutionary molecular biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics. The award will support his research in mathematical analysis, computation, and modeling of problems in computer vision and image processing.

Margaret Wooldridge, associate professor of mechanical engineering and associate professor of aerospace engineering, College of Engineering, has been selected to receive the Society of Automobile Engineers International J. Cordell Award for Women Leaders. She will be presented the award during the SAE 2007 World Congress in Detroit, April 16-19.
