U-M faculty named to NAS, NAEd and AAAS


Seven U-M faculty members have been honored for their work by being named as members of three prestigious national academies.

David Ginsburg, the James V. Neel Distinguished University Professor and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute investigator in the Life Sciences Insitute, and James House, the Angus Campbell Collegiate Professor of Sociology and Survey Research in the Institute for Social Research, have been named to the National Academy of Sciences. Deborah Loewenberg Ball, the William H. Payne Collegiate Professor and dean of the School of Education, and Brian Rowan, the Burke A. Hinsdale Collegiate Professor of Education, associate dean and professor of education, have been named to the National Academy of Education. (See full article>).

Rosina Bierbaum, dean and professor in the School of Natural Resources and Environment; Robert Griess, Jr., professor of mathematics in LSA; and Arthur Lupia, the Hal R. Varian Collegiate Professor of Political Science in LSA, and professor of arts and research in the Center for Political Science, Institute for Social Research, have been named to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
