"Oasis Serenity" by Gerome Ragni is presented through June 20 in the Taubman Center, first floor south, as part of the exhibit, "I've Got Life: The Healing Paintings." Ragni was best known as the author of the rock musical "Hair," but from age 5 he was a painter. After he was diagnosed with cancer in 1990, Ragni painted from his hospital bed. His works are playful, whimsical and filled with color and movement. Sponsored by the U-M Health System Gifts of Art, 936-2787, www.med.umich.edu/goa. (Photo by Ruth Johnson) |
