Photos: A healthy new Crossroads

The Crossroads Building and Tower, home of the School of Public Health, opened Oct. 26. Some 300 attended a reception to mark the occasion (left). The new facility features approximately 2,300 linear feet of windows with breathtaking views of North Campus, the Arboretum and the city of Ann Arbor. The entrance can be seen in the bottom photo. Hundreds of faculty, staff and students will be moving into the seven-story research tower late this summer. In remarks at the reception, President Mary Sue Coleman said public health can be "an invisible occupation" that receives widespread attention only when things go wrong. "With today's opening of the Crossroads Building and Tower," she said, "'invisible' just went away." (Photos by Lin Jones, U-M Photo Services)
