Photo: 'Antony' takes Power Center stage Nov. 4

Patrick Stewart stars in two upcoming Royal Shakespeare Company productions at U-M. Stewart plays Anthony (pictured above) in "Antony and Cleopatra" opening at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Power Center for the Performing Arts. Torn between his duties as one of three Roman rulers and his desire to live a life of pleasure with his sensuous and volatile lover, the Queen of Egypt, Mark Antony becomes embroiled in a war with his fellow ruler, Octavius Caesar, who challenges Antony's loyalties. The production is sponsored by DTE Energy, 764-2538. Stewart also plays Prospero in "The Tempest," opening at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 1 at the Power Center. Shakespeare's magical last play, his poignant farewell to the stage, has love, tragedy and comedy combined in equal measure. Sponsored by the University Musical Society and Pfizer, 764 2538.
