Ross school construction site burglarized

A contractor at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business reported to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) Jan. 11 that someone had broken into the construction site and caused property damage. Entry to the site appeared to have been gained by breaking a window in a contractor's trailer. Other access points to the site also were damaged. Fire extinguishers had been released, electricity had been turned off to occupied areas of the school and a laptop computer was missing, the DPS report stated. The incident remains under investigation.

Stolen car, moped returned to owners

Two vehicles reported stolen from the Medical Campus in January have been recovered and returned to their owners.

On Jan. 3, a 23-year-old Belleville woman told Hospital Security that the car she had borrowed from her cousin to drive to the hospital for medical treatment was stolen from the M18 parking structure. Later that day, the woman reported that she had found the car at an Ypsilanti apartment complex.

In a separate incident a 48-year-old staff person told police that her moped was stolen Jan. 21 from a parking area near Mott Children's Hospital. The woman said the vehicle was taken between 6:05-7:30 p.m. while she was searching for her missing keys. The moped was found Jan. 30 in the 2500 block of Adrienne Street in Ann Arbor. The ignition was damaged.

Drunk student found in Trotter House

An 18-year-old student was found Jan. 20 sleeping on a conference room floor at the Trotter House. A student manager had returned to the building around 5:30 a.m. and discovered a door window was broken. He found the young man passed out and smelling of alcohol. The suspect was transported to the U-M Hospital emergency room for alcohol intoxication. DPS is investigating for burglary and minor in possession of alcohol.

Police investigate Northwood assault

A 20-year-old Ann Arbor man told police Jan. 30 he got into a dispute about 4 p.m. with a relative of his girlfriend, who is a Northwood resident. As the man left the apartment, he was assaulted by an Ypsilanti man whom the relative had summoned to the scene, the victim said. The victim refused medical treatment. Police interviewed the suspected assailant and released him pending the prosecutor's authorization.
