Free tickets for U-M Dalai Lama lecture gone;
pay tickets for related events still available

All tickets to the Dalai Lama's free, U-M-sponsored Wege Lecture on April 20 were distributed Tuesday morning in less than three hours.

No additional tickets remain for the 2 p.m. lecture at Crisler Arena.

However, paid-admission tickets are still available for other, non-U-M-sponsored Dalai Lama events on April 19 and 20. Those tickets are available through TicketMaster.

In addition to the U-M sponsored Wege Lecture, the Dalai Lama will deliver paid-admission teaching sessions at Crisler Arena at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. April 19 and at 10 a.m. April 20. Those events are sponsored by Jewel Heart, the Garrison Institute and The Tibet Fund.
For more information about those events, go to www.dalailamaannarbor.com.

The Michigan Union Ticket Office handed out tickets to University students, faculty and staff Tuesday morning. Distribution began at 9 a.m., and the last ticket was issued at 11:53, says Heather Gray, MUTO manager.
