Whitaker remembrance scheduled for Nov. 19

A remembrance event for former Business School Dean and Provost Gilbert Whitaker Jr., will be held 3-4:30 p.m. Nov. 19, in the Michigan League. Whitaker died June 21 in Houston after a long illness. He was 75. Whitaker was dean of the Business School from 1979-90. He served as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs from 1990-95. He left U-M in 1997 to become dean of the Rice University Jones Graduate School of Management until 2005.
