Football shuttles roll

The Ann Arbor Transportation Authority (AATA) operates Football Ride shuttle buses to all U-M home games. Fans can avoid the hassle of trying to park near Michigan Stadium by using any of 17 hotel and parking sites around Ann Arbor. The cost is $2 each way. Shuttle service begins two hours before kickoff and runs roughly 60 minutes after the game. Shuttles drop off and pick up at the southeast corner of the stadium. Football Ride tickets may be purchased at many of the shuttle sites, by mail or in person at AATA's main office, 2700 S. Industrial, Ann Arbor, 48104. For more information call (734) 973-6500.

Johnson staff award nominations sought

The Office of the Provost again will recognize exemplary staff at the Ann Arbor and U-M Health System campuses with the Candace J. Johnson Staff Award for Excellence. Established in 2004, the award is a memorial to Candy Johnson, a staff member who worked in the provost's office. Johnson's dedication, professionalism and personality were positive influences in the workplace, colleagues say. Faculty and staff are encouraged to recognize staff members who make a difference by combining enthusiasm with excellence. A $500 cash award and certificate will be presented in December by the Office of the Provost. For more information and nomination forms, go to
