English classes for international community

The Northwood Community English Language Program offers English classes for the families of international students, faculty members and staff. Registration is taking place at the Northwood Community Center for child, teen and adult classes. Native speakers of English also are invited to participate as volunteer conversation or classroom partners. For more information call 764-9998 or e-mail northwood@umich.edu.

Sales benefit Cardiovascular Center

Holiday season sale proceeds of Bo Schembechler's book "Heart Of A Champion," "A Celebration of Bo's Life" DVD and a limited edition bronze replica of the Cardiovascular Center heart sculpture titled "My Heart Is In Your Hand" will benefit the Cardiovascular Center. The gifts are available from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday in the CVC Mardigian Wellness Resource Center on Level 2 next to the Atrium Garden.

University Record to resume publication Jan. 12

While the University Record will go on print production hiatus until Jan. 12, news from the Dec. 18 Board of Regents meeting and additional breaking news stories will updated on the Record Web site, www.ur.umich.edu. News releases and other items intended to run in the print edition should be submitted by 5 p.m. Jan. 6. Regents news and a complete calendar of events for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. Symposium will be featured in the issue.

WiFi now available at UMHS buildings

Free public wireless Internet access now is available in nearly all U-M Health System facilities including all Medical Campus hospitals and outpatient centers, the Comprehensive Cancer Center, the Cardiovascular Center and the Med Inn. It's also available throughout the East Medical Campus, various clinics at Domino's Farms and selected U-M Health Centers in nearby communities. Users can use a laptop or mobile device to access the Internet from patients' hospital rooms, waiting areas, cafeterias and other locations.
