Michigan Radio audience jumps

Michigan Radio has experienced significant audience growth, according to fall 2008 audience ratings. Over the past year, Michigan Radio saw a 40 percent increase in total weekly audience in Detroit, Grand Rapids and Flint, and the station experienced almost 20 percent audience growth in the Lansing and Kalamazoo markets. “We're gratified that in these tumultuous times, more and more listeners throughout our broadcast area are turning to Michigan Radio for their news,” says Director of Broadcasting Steve Schram. Michigan Radio remains the most listened to public radio service in Michigan, with more than 400,000 listeners per week.

Nominations sought for staff service awards

The College of Engineering seeks nominations for its 2009 Excellence in Staff Service Award Program. All full- and part-time regular, non-faculty employees in CoE, regardless of length of service, are eligible. Nominations will be accepted for individual staff members or staff work groups (two or more) as well as teams who have taken on time-limited tasks. CoE also seeks nominations for the 2009 Judith A. Pitney Staff Service Career Award. All full- and part-time regular, non-faculty CoE employees with a minimum of 10 years of service and who meet the requirements are eligible. University Record to resume publication March 2

While the University Record will go on print hiatus until March 2, news from the Feb. 19 Board of Regents meeting and additional breaking news will be updated on the Record Web site, ur.umich.edu. Daily news also will be provided through the Record Update, ur.umich.edu/update. News releases and other items intended to run in the March 2 print edition should be submitted by 5 p.m. Feb. 24.
