E-mail questions to sshirley@umich.edu.

MHealthy providing free fitness consultations

MHealthy is offering university faculty and staff a free, personal fitness consultation with a physical activity coordinator. The consultation takes approximately 45 minutes. Appointments are available at various locations across campus from Wednesday through mid-August. More dates will be available in the fall and winter. Discounts for other MHealthy programs are given at the end of the consultation, and the physical activity coordinator will follow-up six to eight weeks later to check on progress and answer questions. To schedule a fitness consultation appointment, go to the MHealthy Web site, www.mhealthy.umich.edu, and click on "Fitness Consultation Registration" under Quick Links.

Data network switch replacements continue

Information Technology Central Services/Information Technology Communications (ITCS/ITCom) is replacing distribution layer switches in an additional 37 campus buildings this year. The upgrades began last year in 18 buildings and will continue through the next two years in 70 more. The switch connects local area networks to the UMnet Backbone and then to the Internet. One new Ethernet-linked switch per building will be funded. Units that wish to provide a second, redundant switch or a higher-speed link may purchase these items through ITCS/ITCom. For more information go to www.itcom.itcs.umich.edu/backbone/dls-upgrade.html. Direct questions about building upgrades to www.itcom.itcs.umich.edu/customer/projectmanager.html.
