The Board of Regents will have its monthly meeting at 3 p.m. March 19 in the Regents Room of the Fleming Administration Building. Public comments on agenda items will be taken prior to their consideration. Comments on nonagenda items will follow the regular business agenda. DTV switch won't affect UMTV cable programming

Many broadcast stations postponed the switch from analog to digital signals from Feb. 17 to June 12, and UMTV, which pulls programming from several digital channels, will go on uninterrupted and be of the same high quality. Information Technologies Central Services has taken the necessary steps to ensure that UMTV cable service will continue service. For those who own a digital television or plan to buy one soon, UMTV Cable already broadcasts DTV/HDTV signals, using the HDTV standard (also known as 64QAM). UMTV Cable's channels also are free and broadcast without encryption. To learn more about the DTV transition, go to DTVTransition.org.
