Photo: Project HOT AIR

People who happened to be near Palmer Field on the afternoon of Oct. 5 may have witnessed this inflatable monument marking the 20th anniversary of the overthrow of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceauçescu. Project HOT AIR was constructed by Anca Trandafirescu, assistant professor of architecture, and is designed to resemble the head of a fallen statue. The monument will be taken to Romania, where it will be displayed in Timisoara's Victory Plaza, site of the first large demonstrations that led to Ceauçescu's downfall.
