New online survey tool available

Qualtrics, a powerful online survey and experimentation tool, now is available free to all university campuses and units. The Stephen M. Ross School of Business has used Qualtrics since 2007 for course and program evaluations, administrative tasks, student surveys and research. The user-friendly tool produces simple surveys in minutes and complex studies involving randomization and embedded and longitudinal data are possible. Each major academic or administrative unit has a customized home site where members can self-enroll in Qualtrics. University members interested in obtaining an account should go to www.itd.umich.edu/sw-info/survey/qualtrics.php to find the home address and administrator of their unit. University debuts new promotional spot on athletic broadcasts

A new campaign to update television messages that speak to the unique attributes of U-M debuted Oct. 10 on ABC-TV during the U-M vs. Iowa football game. It features a contemporary montage and an upbeat tour of the university. The spot will air in nationally broadcast U-M football and basketball games on selective broadcast networks across the seasons — including ABC, ESPN/ESPN2, Big Ten Network and CBS. A companion 60-second version of the campaign currently is in production and will air on the Big Ten Network during U-M football and basketball games. Filmed during the first week of the fall semester, more than 100 students and five faculty members were captured on camera during the four days of on-campus filming. David Lampe, vice president of communications, and Steve Schram, director of Michigan Public Media, were co-executive producers on the project with production support from Michigan Marketing & Design and RedOrangeUSA of Birmingham.
