The convocation speech, titled “Seeing and Believing: The Gains of Education,” will be given by Ejner J. Jensen, professor of English and chair of the faculty Senate Advisory Committee on University Affairs.
LS&A senior Denise C. Bell, winner of the Power Exchange Scholarship for two years of study at Cambridge University, will speak on behalf of the students.
The University’s new Arthur F. Thurnau Professors will be presented at the convocation. They are selected for the Thurnau professorship for their contributions to undergraduate education.
Following the convocation, a reception for honor students, their families and guests will be held in the Michigan League.
