Returning to the traditional format gives the Universitys graduates an opportunity to celebrate their graduation as a community, says Walter Harrison, vice president for university relations. We feel that the addition of a central ceremony will further enhance the commencement experience of our spring graduates and their families.
All undergraduate degrees will be conferred at the Stadium exercises.
Rackham degrees will be conferred at University Graduate Exercises at 3 p.m. April 28 in Hill Auditorium.
Non-Rackham masters degrees will continue to be conferred at unit exercises.
Professional schoolsDentistry, Law, Medicine and Pharmacywill continue to hold separate ceremonies.
Harrison notes that University units are being encouraged to continue to hold their own recognition ceremonies and exercises, which reflect the unique character of each school and college.
Detailed information about spring commencement, such as eligibility to participate, number of tickets available and special arrangements for people with disabilities, will be available in February.
