Three in custody in carjacking
Three males, two from the Ann Arbor area and one from the Detroit area, are in custody following the Oct. 12 armed robbery and carjacking from the Church St. carport. The three allegedly approached a woman as she was getting into her car and drove away with it. The vehicle has not been recovered.

Preliminary exam set
in sexual assault case
A male student who allegedly sexually assaulted another U-M student is free on bond after being arrested Oct. 31 in connection with the September incident. The suspect was arraigned in 15th District Court, and a preliminary hearing is slated for Nov. 27.

DPS assists Flint police
A man not affiliated with the University is free on bond after Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers found there were outstanding felony warrants for him in Genessee County during a welfare check at a Family Housing unit on North Campus. Outstanding warrants for possession of illegal substances were found for both the man and a female student on Oct. 28. Officers have turned the two over to Genesee County authorities.

University police apprehend
escaped youth
A young man not affiliated with the University escaped while he was being treated at University Hospital. He was later captured by DPS officers. The 17-year-old was an inmate at Maxey Training School and was being tested at the University’s Medical Center when he fled on foot and was subsequently caught by the officers. Charges are pending in Washtenaw County.

Travel reports questioned
A woman who is no longer affiliated with the University has been released on personal bond following an appearance in 15th District Court Nov. 7. She was charged with embezzlement over $100, and felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and obatining money over $100 under false pretenses, a felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison. Administrators had reported discrepancies in four travel expense accounts that were first discovered Sept. 3. A preliminary examination is slated for Dec. 4.
