Announcement of Opportunity for Discovery Program
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Office of Space Science, is releasing an announcement of opportunity (AO 98-OSS-04) for investigations suitable for the next flight mission(s) in its Discovery Mission series with a mission launch date of no later than Sept. 30, 2004. This AO also now allows U.S. science participation in non-NASA space missions identified in the announcement as Missions of Opportunity. The Discovery Program consists of focused planetary systems exploration investigations of limited costs and duration utilizing medium class or smaller launch vehicles. Medium-Class Explorers (MIDEX) and Missions of Opportunity
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Office of Space Science (OSS), is releasing an announcement of opportunity for the Medium-Class Explorer (MIDEX) and Missions of Opportunity. NASA intends to select two MIDEX missions to launch by June 2003 and June 2004. A mission of opportunity also may be selected. The science objectives covered by the announcement include those in the currently defined OSS science themes of the Astronomical Search for Origins, the Sun-Earth Connection and the Structure and Evolution of the Universe. Funding Opportunity Available from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission
