The football team must have been thinking ahead during the Iowa game to its stunning defeat of Penn State on Nov. 8. The Wolverines are rated No. 1 in the Associated Press writers' poll and No. 2 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll. The last time the Wolverines were ranked No. 1 was in October 1990 following a 41-3 win at Wisconsin.
