DRDA and Financial Operations will present two Cost Accounting Standards Workshops on Oct. 24 and Nov. 25. These sessions are intended to assist in assuring compliance with Cost Accounting Standards in three major areas: budget planning and preparation, identification and documentation of cost-sharing commitments and project administration. The workshops will be presented in Suite 18, Wolverine Tower, and will focus on sponsored research awards from NIH. These sessions require approximately 3 hours and will start at 8:15 a.m. Coffee, donuts and bagels will be available 8-8:15 a.m. Each workshop is limited to 50 persons; pre-registration is required. The U.S. Information Agency is offering grants to develop training programs that link international exchange interests in Slovakia, Slovenia, Bosnia/Croatia/Serbia, the Baltics and Poland with counterpart institutions or groups. Each country has been assigned a specific focus. The special focus themes include free flow of information for libraries, devolving administrative power from the federal level to municipalities, diversity in a democracy, intellectual property rights and copyright protection.
