Grad students are role models for teen interested in diabetes research

Michelle Richardson (right) is working with Christina Hodge, a doctoral candidate in the Michigan Diabetes Research Training Center, to learn more about her disease. Richardson has diabetes type I and is working with Hodge and graduate student Heather Lilley in physiology Prof. Jessica Schwartz's lab at the Medical Science II building. She hopes to discover in her project this year whether the presence of a particular gene slows cell growth rate. Photo by Bob Kalmbach
