The woman was walking near the Michigan League between 7 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. when she was confronted by an unknown man. She reported to DPS officers that the man took her wallet, containing credit cards, identification and some money, and then stabbed her in the leg with a knife. She was treated for the wound and released from University Hospital that day.
The man, last seen leaving the area on foot, is described as about 6 feet tall to 6 feet two inches tall with a large build. He was wearing a black hood, a brown jacket and dark pants.
DPS officers have not ruled out a connection to an incident on Dec. 2, and they urge anyone who has information about this incident to contact them at 763-1131.
