Photo stories: Halo gets a new coat
The parapet around the top
row of seats at Michigan Stadium is receiving a new coat of paint this month. Commonly referred to as the halo, the short wall on the top edge of the stadium no longer features letters spelling out phrases from U-Ms fight song or icons of footballs, helmets and University seals. Instead, the parapet is being repainted Michigan blue with a thin stripe of maize at the top. Painters from Trident National Corp. of Detroit plan to finish the painting by the end of the month.
