China travel alert — quarantine measures for H1N1

University students, faculty and staff are advised that the U.S. Department of State has issued a travel alert concerning quarantine measures that travelers may face when entering China. These measures are in response to the 2009-H1N1 ("swine flu") pandemic and include the risk that travelers may be quarantined for seven days. If you are planning travel to China, please read this alert carefully.
Travelers to China are strongly urged to buy HTH Travel Insurance through the university prior to departure (www.uhs.umich.edu/tai) and to register travel plans and emergency contact information with the International Travel Oversight Committee (ITOC) (www.umich.edu/~itoc/).
