Open Enrollment for employee benefits is approaching
Open Enrollment is the annual opportunity for faculty and staff to review their benefit choices to ensure their individual needs are met. Employees can change benefit elections for 2010 during the Oct. 26-Nov. 6 enrollment period. Information packets will be sent to home addresses in late September.

Move-in period for new students means some traffic changes
The U-M class of 2013 will be arriving in Ann Arbor soon, and University Housing is organizing its annual Student Move-In program. This year’s program will begin at 7 a.m. Sept. 2 and will conclude at 6 p.m. Sept. 4. During that time there will be a variety of changes to traffic flows and parking lot rules around campus.

Food ads should focus on more than just taste, study shows
Companies spend billions each year on food advertising, but many ads may be ineffective if they only mention taste and no other senses. A study by two U-M researchers shows that multisensory advertising — ads that describe taste, smell, texture, sight and sound — can enhance the taste perceptions of consumers.
