Humanities Institute seeks applicants for 2010-11 fellowships

The Institute for the Humanities is seeking applications for faculty and graduate student fellowships for 2010-11.

Tenured and tenure-track faculty at the Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses are eligible to apply.

Faculty fellows are released from their usual teaching and service duties to pursue their research while continuing to receive their normal salary and benefits. They reside at the institute for the full academic year, participate in the weekly fellows seminar, and fulfill a service-to-undergraduates component.

The deadline for submitting applications for faculty fellowships is 5 p.m. Dec. 4.

Graduate student fellows have offices in the institute and receive a stipend equal to the Rackham Predoctoral fellowship and health/dental insurance.

Doctoral students who have attained candidacy at the time of application are eligible to apply for this 10-month fellowship. They reside at the institute for the full academic year and participate in the weekly fellows seminar. The deadline for submitting applications for graduate student fellowships is 5 p.m. Jan. 8, 2010.
