Zoology Museum project receives final approval

The Board of Regents Thursday authorized issuing bids and awarding construction contracts for the Varsity Drive Building and Alexander G. Ruthven Museums Building Museum of Zoology Collection Relocation and Renovations project. The majority of the museum’s wet collection will be relocated from Ruthven to approximately 46,000 gross square feet of renovated space at Varsity Drive, while a safe storage compartment for the teaching collection will be created in approximately 6,800 gross square feet of renovated space within Ruthven. The $17.6 million project will be funded by university investment proceeds and is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2012.
