Planetarium temporarily closed for work on
cooling system

The Exhibit Museum Planetarium will be closed for the next couple of weeks while the facility’s air conditioner is replaced. Public programs scheduled for the weekends of June 12-13 and June 19-20 have been canceled.

Dan Madaj, publicity coordinator for the Exhibit Museum, said the planetarium must shut down while the work is performed, not only for the comfort of visitors but to protect the planetarium equipment.

Groups that had been scheduled to visit the facility on weekdays have been notified, Madaj said, adding that museum officials hope to reopen the planetarium the last weekend of June for its current shows, “The Sky Tonight: Star Talk,” “Two Small Pieces of Glass: The Amazing Telescope,” and “MarsQuest.”
