Ross team triumphs at MBA Human Capital Case Competition
A team of six students from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business has captured first place at the 2010 National MBA Human Capital Case Competition. The fourth annual event included teams from 10 of the top graduate schools across the country competing to model, address, and resolve real-world human capital challenges.
REMINDER: Congolese physician to receive Wallenberg Medal on Tuesday
Congolese physician Dr. Denis Mukwege will be awarded the 20th U-M Wallenberg Medal at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Rackham Auditorium, after which he will deliver the Wallenberg Lecture. Mukwege is a leader in the movement to highlight the continued problem of sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Monday morning is deadline for students to enter business plan contest
The deadline is 8 a.m. Monday for students to compete in Round One of the Michigan Business Challenge by submitting an executive summary for a proposed business. The challenge, a campuswide business plan competition with more than $60,000 in total awards, is conducted through the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies.

Message to middle schoolers
With approximately one-third of smokers taking up the habit before the age of 14, anti-smoking proponents are focusing their preventive message at a younger audience. In that spirit, the College of Pharmacy's American Pharmacists Association — Academy of Student Pharmacists Tobacco Cessation Committee has been making presentations at Ann Arbor Public School's Clague Middle School and the visits now are part of Clague's health class curriculum.
