Flint, Dearborn campuses announce speakers for commencement ceremonies
UM-Flint and UM-Dearborn have announced the featured speakers for their commencement on May 1. Both schools will conduct separate morning and afternoon ceremonies that day.
At the Dearborn campus, Mark Fields, executive vice president of Ford Motor Co. and president of The Americas, will speak to graduates of the College of Business and College of Engineering and Computer Science at 10 a.m. Detroit Free Press columnist Rochelle Riley will speak to graduates of the School of Education and College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters in the ceremony that begins at 3 p.m.
At the Flint campus, undergraduate and graduate students who have earned degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences, and graduate students from the Rackham School of Graduate Studies will have their ceremony at 11 a.m. Undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Management, the School of Health Professions and Studies, and the School of Education and Human Services will have their ceremony at 4 p.m.
The featured speaker for both Flint ceremonies will be Dr. Gregg Pane, the state of Virginia's Medicaid director and an alumnus of UM-Flint and the Medical School.
