Mitt Romney to speak at U-M Cardiovascular Center today
Former Massachusetts governor and possible presidential candidate Mitt Romney will speak to an audience of invited guests and news media at the Cardiovascular Center at 2 p.m. today.
The speech, which is open by invitation only, is being sponsored by the College Republicans, a U-M student organization.
Romney's use of a U-M facility does not constitute U-M or U-M Health System endorsement of the content of his speech or his potential candidacy. As a public institution, the university cannot endorse candidates.
Anyone with an appointment or a loved one at the Cardiovascular Center should rest assured that this event will not interfere with patient care, or the ability of patients and visitors to park at the CVC. Staff and faculty will be able to travel through the CVC as always.
The facility is being used in accordance with guidelines for official student groups that wish to hold events in university facilities. All costs associated with the event will be billed to the College Republicans.
