eRecruit to add functionality for hiring non-student temps
As part of an ongoing effort to improve efficiencies in hiring at the university, the non-student temporary employee hiring process will be added to eRecruit in June.
This continuing development of the eRecruit system is a collaboration between University Human Resources, ITS and unit partners from across the university. The eRecruit system, which was implemented for the regular staff hiring process in 2010, offers many benefits for the university's approximately 3,000 annual non-student temporary hiring transactions.
Using eRecruit gives the department more control of the process and should lead to faster hiring turnaround as well as more timely background checking. It also provides an option for units to post non-student temporary jobs to UMJOBS.ORG, which allows job seekers to see a broader selection of university positions.
Currently the project is in its change-management phase, which includes providing information, reviewing unit processes and providing training. A testing environment will be ready in late May for unit readiness coordinators, and user training begins in early June. The targeted go-live date is June 27.
