'Under the Lights' game week and game day activities

Friday, Sept. 9

Noon- 2 p.m. — North Campus Field Day

2 p.m. — Field Hockey vs. Central Michigan (Ocker Field)

5:30-7 p.m. — Desmond Howard autograph signing at M-Den on campus

6-7 p.m. — "Fight For the Night, Go Blue, Beat the Irish" pep rally at the Diag

6-8 p.m. — "UTL Celebration" at Jack Roth Stadium Club (private event)

7:30 p.m. — Women's Soccer vs. Western Michigan (U-M Soccer Complex)

7:30-9:30 p.m. — Elbel Field dedication (turf field)

10 p.m.-2 a.m. — UMix at the Michigan Union

Saturday, Sept. 10

9 a.m.-12 p.m. — ESPN College GameDay at Ingalls Mall

10:30-1 p.m. — Brady Brunch at the Diag on Central Campus; Greek Life brunches at select sorority houses

Noon-7 p.m. — MSA Presents: Under the Lights Tailgate for Students (Elbel Field)

Noon-8 p.m. — Fanfest at Pioneer High School (includes Sports Illustrated and Nissan/Heisman Trophy Display)

11 p.m.-2 a.m. — Post-game food and fun at Michigan Union

Post-game food at select residence hall cafes until 1 a.m.:
• Bursley Blue Apple
• Markley Hideaway
• Victors and Mojo
• North Quad A La Carte
• South Quad Ciao Down Pizza
• East Quad Café

Pre-game inside the stadium

• 100,000 maize pom poms will be distributed inside the stadium.

• Desmond Howard College Football Hall of Fame presentation

• 9-11 tribute with the playing of "God Bless America." (The names of the 18 U-M graduates who lost their lives in the 9-11 tragedy will be scrolled.)

• Flyover following the national anthem

In-game

• 1971 Big Ten Championship team highlighted

• Sports spotlight (basketballs, volleyball, hockey)

Halftime

• Special Michigan Marching Band performance

• Parachutists at the end of halftime

Other items

• Both teams and the officials will be wearing retro/throwback uniforms and both teams will have special sideline apparel designed by adidas.

• Michigan Athletics Game day publication includes a special Desmond Howard audio chip and special section on the history of the Michigan-Notre Dame rivalry.

• "I Wore 21" book chronicling Desmond Howard's career will be on sale around the stadium at M-Den locations and in tailgate areas.

• Men's and women's soccer and field hockey have home games on Friday and Sunday.
