Spectrum Center marks 40th anniversary with a gala celebration

Former Michigan Student Assembly President Chris Armstrong (left) is joined by his mother, Cynthia, and father, Steve, at the 40th anniversary gala of the Spectrum Center to announce the creation of a scholarship fund that will help students who face bullying attend U-M.

The Rackham Building was bathed in pink light Friday as celebrants walked the pink carpet to the gala.

LGBT alumni who convened on campus for the Spectrum Center's 40th anniversary gather on the steps of the Michigan Union with current faculty, staff, and students to mark the occasion.
