Parking changes take effect today with opening of new children’s, women’s hospital

Several parking changes will take effect today to coincide with the opening of the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women’s Hospital. These changes will make it easier for patients and visitors to park at the U-M Hospitals and Health Centers and will also minimize the impact to employee parking.

Beginning today:

• New names for UMHHC parking structures will go into effect — see the flier and map for details.

• Taubman and Mott structures now are divided into patient and staff areas with separate entrances. The addition of patient parking at the Mott structure will make it easy for ill children, pregnant women, bone marrow transplant patients and their families to park.

• The Mott structure’s staff parking area will have 837 Blue permit spaces.

• Faculty and staff no longer may park in patient/visitor areas of all parking structures. For those coming to the medical campus for a meeting, use a business pass and park in P3. This will help save patient space in P2. See the map here. (Note: Users must be logged into a U-M computer or virtual network to access some links in this story.)
