BREAKING NEWS: U-M coaching legend Red Simmons dies at 102
Former U-M women's track and field coach Kenneth "Red" Simmons passed away Friday at 102 years of age. Simmons was the first coach in the history of the women's track and field program and coached the squad for four seasons (1978-81) before retiring.

Three U-M faculty members have been awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship for their research, in recognition of their distinguished achievement and exceptional promise for future accomplishment.
U-M hosting national conference marking 40th anniversary of Title IX
A national conference to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Title IX will be held at U-M, May 9-11. "Title IX at 40: Progress and Promise — Equity for All" will celebrate the federal legislation that enabled women and girls to become high school and college athletes. The keynote speaker is Laila Ali, world champion boxer and president of the Women's Sports Foundation.
Flint, Dearborn campuses announce commencement speakers
UM-Flint and UM-Dearborn have announced the featured speakers for their commencement on April 29. Both schools will conduct separate morning and afternoon ceremonies that day.

Alumnus Justin Golden learned the true Michigan difference after his graduation from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. In an attempt to broaden his business outreach, Golden contacted U-M’s extensive alumni network and journeyed to eight countries over eight months to meet with roughly 50 U-M graduates around the world to explore entrepreneurial and investment opportunities.
