Jenson sentenced to three years in prison in pornography case

A former pediatric resident at the U-M Health System who pleaded guilty last fall to one count of possession of child pornography was sentenced Thursday to three years in federal prison. Dr. Stephen Jenson was sentenced by Judge Avern Cohn in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

In the sentencing memo, the federal prosecutor wrote that a prison sentence “will send the message that the court will not tolerate people, entrusted with protecting and caring for children, to cross into the abusive world of child pornography.”

Jenson was dismissed from U-M in December 2011.
