Letter to the editorTrashing the trash policy
Well, the cost cutters at the University have gotten out their shears
and have decided in their wisdom that everyone should have two waste
receptacles in their offices but that we all must carry our own smelly
(non-paper) trash to a third main receptacleevery dayto
save what little effort it takes our custodial staff to do the dirty
work. Now we can all have the smelly garbage greeting visitors at
the elevator, since that is the most central place on our floor.
So, we are emptying our own trash, a job I thought was for custodians.
Hooray for the bottom line. It makes me want to throw my trash right
out the window!
