Abstract submission deadline near for May 31 Medical Education Day

The Department of Medical Education will host Medical Education Day May 31 at the Towsley Center. The deadline for abstract submission is May 1. The event will highlight educational activities in undergraduate/graduate medical education at U-M, and provide faculty, residents and students an opportunity to interact and collaborate. Graduation events to impact parking

Several recognition events and graduation ceremonies, including Spring Commencement, will be held this week at various campus venues, including the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre, Hill Auditorium, the Power Center for the Performing Arts, Rackham Auditorium, the Art and Architecture Building, the Chemistry Building, Crisler Arena and Michigan Stadium.

In order to accommodate parents and family members who will be attending these events, several adjustments will be implemented in campus parking lots. On April 28-29, enforcement of parking permits on North Campus, Central Campus and South Campus will be suspended and AVI gates at parking structures will be open. This suspension, however, does not pertain to Medical Campus parking lots, where enforcement will be maintained as indicated.

To allow tent and equipment set-up around Michigan Stadium, and to provide parking for the events in Crisler that begin at 5 p.m. April 28, the main Crisler lots will be closed to incoming vehicles an hour before. All U-M vehicles should be removed from the Crisler lots as is done for home football games. This includes lots SC4-7 as well as SC36 (Main and Keech streets), SC 35 (the old Buffalo lot off Keech Street), and SC2 (behind the Institute for Continuing Legal Education). These smaller lots will be used Saturday for parking persons with disabilities and special guests.
