Photo: Rolling toward commencement

A cyclist rolls through the Diag where crews had covered grassy areas with plastic event flooring in preparation for Spring Commencement April 26. Orange temporary fencing cordons off portions of the Diag, preventing foot traffic to allow for tree trimming, bleacher placement and other preparatory work. Spring Commencement was moved to the Diag after University officials determined construction at Michigan Stadium would preclude its use as the traditional graduation setting. Workers will begin to remove chairs and start cleanup of the area following the ceremony. Breakdown is expected to be complete April 30. Re-seeding and the resumption of student activities are scheduled for May 1. (Photo by Todd McKinney)
